Recently while I was taking a twirl around my neighborhood, and expanding my perimeter (yay my foot is healing more each day!) I had this thought that piqued my interest. There is a theme going on around town related to Covid that has somewhat become subliminal, while also being in your face.
What the heck am I talking about? Signs! The Covid signs have taken on a life of their own, becoming part of the statistics in a weird sort of way. When the pandemic first hit epic proportions here in New York City, the sobering site was all of those “Closed” signs around town. I took photos at the time and included them in a previous PatriciaG’s Blog: Closed for Covid: New York City Like Never Before. (link below)
Now the Signs have taken on a new twist as we’ve begun opening up. Some of them are standard while others have a bit more flair. They’re on the walls, sidewalks, in windows and on public transportation, all throughout the city.
Allora (anyway) I started snapping photos of the Signs because one day they’ll only be a memory and I wanted to preserve their history in a way.
If you feel so inclined, I’d love it if you shared in the Comments section below.
Everyone stay safe, healthy, sane and heed the Signs! Big Love, PatriciaG
