Patricia has been a licensed Reiki Practitioner since 2003. It began with a journey of trying to heal and expand her own life. Admittedly, she had some reservations about this hands-on treatment with the weird sounding name, and she thought it was a bit woo-hoo at first. But wanting to add to her toolbox kit of ‘things to use to help her figure out this crazy thing called life’ she kept moving forward and ultimately the client became the practitioner.
So what is this thing called Reiki?
The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word Rei, which means “Universal Life” and Ki which means “Energy.” Reiki has been around for thousands of years and was rediscovered in the mid-1800’s by the Japanese Buddhist monk, Dr. Mikao Usui. That being said, Reiki is not affiliated with any particular religion.
Contrary to what some may think, It is also not a massage, but more of a laying on of hands to help unblock an individual’s life force energy. Sounds a little out there right? But the proof is in the results. A typical Reiki session has the potential to help ease stress and helps to support the body’s own potential to heal on all levels: physical, mental and emotional.
During the initial meeting Patricia will describe what to expect during the session and it’s also a good time to check in with you to explore if there are any particular problems or issues you are experiencing and check in if there’s anything you hope to achieve from your session.
A session is generally around 60 minutes long. You are fully clothed, so if that’s something you were feeling a little weird about, no need to worry my dear because the only thing you need to take off is your shoes.
For the actual session, you will rest comfortably on a massage table. Patricia’s sessions are hands-on, where she will apply a light touch, or if you prefer, she can also provide the session hands-off where she will hold her hands slightly above your body. It’s your preference and it can even be a combo of the two.
Patricia will move through specific standard Reiki hand positions beginning at the person’s head or feet. You might feel a warming sensation or a tingling during the session or nothing at all but sheer relaxation. The session should be very pleasant, relaxing and invigorating.
Benefits of a Reiki healing session:
* Aids in relaxation, relief of chronic pain
* Helps reduce anxiety, depression and emotional stress
* Assists the body’s natural healing process
* Improves: sleep, attitude, mood
After the session you’ll have time to discuss your experience and ask any questions.
Price: $40 per session*
* The price above is considerably lower than what most practitioners charge. The reason is, Patricia has a true desire to provide healing to those who are in need. Having her own struggles in life, she understands the importance of getting help, and relief, and sometimes not being able to do so because of financial hardship. Taking that into consideration, Patricia also provides Reiki healing on a sliding scale, so please don’t let money stop you from gifting yourself this healing treatment.
Please don’t hesitate to CONTACT Patricia if you have any questions about Reiki.
