Buon Giorno a Tutti!
Some of you may remember my blog about healing in Chianti after the passing of my Mom. I was invited by a friend to stay at the villa she was renting while she renovated her recently purchased villa. That was 2 years ago.
This week I was blessed and fortunate enough to visit Laurence and to see her new villa. It is a place of sheer beauty. Everywhere I looked my eyes danced with delight and I smiled from deep within. My friend is a brilliant decorator with a keen eye of creating something without having to see it first. I mean, she bought a huge block of marble in Carraia and designed a tub and sink from it. She is unlike me, who will move a vase 10 different times before agreeing on the right spot. But, as she so lovingly put it, I take great photos, so we all have our own gifts of creativity and beauty to share. Grazie cara!
Our visit was very last minute & unplanned since we have both been busy. But as the Universe & Italy will always have it, spending the day turned out to be an effortless one. Sharing time with Laurence always turns out to be easy and I marvel at the genius of life that allows us to cross paths with people who remain close to our hearts. She and I met as roommates here in Firenze back in the 90's. We've only seen each other a handfull of times since then, but each time we meet up it's as if we see each other every day, and we pick up where we left off. There is no awkwardness or a need to explain. It is life, and she reminds me to accept and enjoy life and the time shared. I always feel healed and centered after a visit with her. It reminds me of my relationship with Firenze...always welcoming me back as if I've never left, with the reminder that life is meant to be enjoyed and shared, in ease and with beauty and grace. Pause for reflection......
With Laurence's ok, I'd like to share just a few photos with you of her lovely villa. I hope they make you go ahhhhh as they do for me. I have many as there are over 30 rooms - I think. I tried to count them but I kept getting lost. It is that grand and I have deemed it to be paradise here on earth, feel extremely blessed to have spent some time, and have vowed a return visit as quickly as I can.
Thank you for a beautiful couple of days dear friend. A presto! Speriamo.
Big Love & Buon Weekend, PatriciaG
