I forever endeavor to find connections between my two beloved spots in the world - New York & Italia. Fortunately, I live in a city where cultural events are in abundance and I have the pleasure of attending these events.
Recently, I had the chance to be in a small and intimate setting at the Italian Cultural Institute, featuring Jovanotti. When I think of his tours filling stadiums with tens of thousands of people, and here I sat in a room of approximately 150 people, well it just blows my mind. Being in the aura of this man's genius and beautiful humanity was just beyond words. Most of it was in Italian, and truth be told, I did not understand it all. But I understood more than I thought I would so it's all good. Ma devo studiare!! (for a taste of Jova's music, see video below)
Last week I attended an event at my favorite Italian cultural spot in NYC, Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimo. I am there quite frequently as they provide a variety of events: photography exhibitions, book presentations, receptions, movie screenings, theatrical performances and more! Last week's event was a book presentation of Nutella World written by Gigi Padovani, followed by a Nutella Party (yum!) hosted by none other than Eataly. Do you see all the connections here?
I am on a journey of connecting the two worlds that I love most. I am not always sure of how and where it will lead, but I trust that I am being Divinely guided, and that I am always right where I need to be.
Big Love, PatriciaG
